We’ve spent a great deal of time as of late contemplating the modern workspace. How technology has changed the way we work together. Breaking down the walls of communication, both figuratively and literally.
We had the pleasure of meeting with Indy Hall founder and coworking guru Alex Hilman while in Philadelphia recently. His group started out meeting in coffee shops and cafes, anywhere they could find fast free wifi. Eventually the group reached critical mass and now they occupy a two-story building on 3rd Street.
Corporate office spaces have evolved as well. Cubicle walls are being replaced with creative spaces. Fluorescent lights are being replaced with softer, energy-efficient LEDs. More employers are choosing to let their employees work from home thanks to video conferencing and applications like Slack.
We’re still not sure what the future holds for the modern workspace, but it’s certainly exciting.
